PRESENTATION OF AWARDS AND MEDALS TO OUTSTANDING STUDENTS OF UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR INTERNATIONAL DEMONSTRATION SECONDARY SCHOOL, CALABAR (UCIDSS)

In her speech, the Director of the National Health Insurance Scheme at the University of Calabar, Dr. Mrs. Onen thanked the students for making their parents proud. She emphasized that taking studies seriously is crucial for navigating life’s complexities, and encouraged the students to be intentional about their academic pursuits, which would always yield rewards.
Once again, history was made as renowned philanthropist Dr. Mrs. Margaret Onen, Founder of the Dr. Mega Scholarship and Advocacy Movement, donated and presented awards and medals to outstanding students of University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School. These students distinguished themselves in character and learning.
The recipients of the awards were the all-round best students in the Third Term of the 2024/2025 academic year. They received cash awards and medals. The awardees were:
The recipients expressed joy and gratitude to Dr. Mrs. Margaret Onen and the school for the recognition. The Principals of the Upper Basic School and Senior Secondary School, Mr. Phelimon Bebia and Mr. Martins Ropo, respectively, thanked Dr. Mrs. Onen for her philanthropic gesture.
Mr. Phelimon Bebia praised and blessed Dr. Mrs. Onen for her continued generosity. He advised the students to make their parents proud and dignified by this gesture, not to engage in recalcitrant behavior. Similarly, the PTA Chairman, Dr. John Okri applauded Dr. Mrs. Margaret Onen and the School for the wonderful initiative. The parents and guardians of the awardees were elated and thanked the Donor and the school for the platform to encourage excellence.
